About Woodchester Kitchens

Kitchen designers with traditional expertise

Woodchester Kitchens has its origins in a furniture-making workshop set up by Chris Parrish in 1987.  Chris, a skilled cabinet maker whose original interest was building classical guitars, found that his expertise was soon in demand for bespoke fitted kitchens - particularly period kitchens, simply but individually designed to complement the individual home.

In 1990 Chris established Woodchester Kitchens & Interiors and drew together a team of craftsmen to cope with the rising demand for handcrafted kitchens.  Since that time Chris and his colleagues have designed, built and installed (several hundred) bespoke kitchens, consistently delighting their clients.

“We were really impressed with your thoroughness and eye for detail and would recommend Woodchester Kitchens to anyone” Karen and Neil Phinister, Chalford

Many ‘kitchen designers’ offering so-called ‘handcrafted’ or ‘bespoke’ kitchens are actually large companies using mass-production methods to turn out identical components on a production line.  The components for some of the most expensive ‘traditional English’ kitchens on the market are actually manufactured overseas.

We build all our kitchens individually in our own workshops in Chalford, using traditional techniques and modern woodworking technology as appropriate.  All of the Woodchester team are skilled craftspeople rather than machine operators.
